Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1Album Poster

A new composer sets foot in composing the Deathly Hallows Part 1 Soundtrack and that person is French film composer Alexandre Deplat.  Since this is the first part of the final Harry Potter series, the music will be completely different. The “Hedwig’s Theme” is more used now than previous movies with director David Yates saying that it would be present on “anything that felt like we were being nostalgic or in a way reflective of the past”. They added new themes such as the trio’s journey in looking for the Hocruxes, Ron running away and Dobby’s death.  This soundtrack had overall positive reception and even gave it five out of five. And since this is the first part of the end, it’s really good to get this soundtrack.

Ides of March Album Poster

The Ides of March is a serious movie that talks about government and politics, so you can expect its soundtrack to be more serious and smooth instrumentals instead of the lively ones.  The crew of this movie, such as Leonardo DiCaprio, approached Alexandre Deplat to compose the music. Desplat is known to make great music for Julie and Julia, King's Speech, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II and Twilight's New Moon.  With these movies in his resume, you can already expect mellow instrumentals that are soothing yet will depict what the characters are going through in the movie. Since it’s a political movie, you’ll be hearing horns, drums and trumpets that are usually heard in political events such as inaugurations and elections. If you love Ides of March, you’ll love its soundtrack too.

Harry Potter - The Deathly Hallows Part 2 Album Poster

Again composed by French film composer Alexandre Deplat, the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 soundtrack was nominated for a Grammy Award and Satellite Award for Best Original Score in 2012 and has been well received by critics by giving it 9/10.  Since this is the end, most of the tracks bring every audience---reader or not---to tears as they depict that everything is coming to an end.  There are deaths and wounded hearts in this movie, so expect mellow and sad instrumental music in this track.  The Deathly Hallows – Part 2 is a complete end for a collection of wonderful Harry Potter music the past 10 years.  Something that will never be forgotten and will be a classic.
